Long Island Force 13u White Team
Long Island Force 13U White swept
the double header opener against the South Bay Indians. Mike Riolo pitched six
strong innings allowing only one run. He made the defensive play of the game
early on when he made a diving catch on a bunt and doubled up the runner on
second base. The bats were lead by Phillip Bellomo and Brendan Mannix. Paul
Demauro came in the 7th to close the game out. The Force took game one 5-1.
Game 2 started out with the Force making sloppy plays in the field resulting in
them trailing 5-1 after the first two innings. Phillip settled in and pitched a
scoreless third inning. Ryan Nelson held the Indians scoreless over the next
four innings. His pitching effort and improved defense highlighted by Justin
Orebello starting a relay to throw an Indian out at third. The Force chipped
away at the Indians lead which they tied in the 6th. The rally back was a team
effort; all the boys contributed. The Force took the lead in the 8th scoring 4
runs. Mike Orebello came in to close the game for a Force 9-7 win. The team
showed grit, heart and fight. Great opening weekend boys! Next game is Saturday
